Welcome to The Lure by Damon Garcia.

Who am I?

I’m a writer and speaker, and I help people reclaim and expand their imagination by giving a liberative perspective of spirituality and society. When we cultivate a radical imagination we can build a world that’s more free, compassionate and creative. You can read my work here in my newsletter, and watch my videos on Youtube and Instagram. I also wrote a book called The God Who Riots: Taking Back the Radical Jesus (Broadleaf Books, 2022), and I’m working on another one now.

What’s this newsletter?

This newsletter is based on the conviction that God communicates to all of us equally through a mysterious divine lure. Nobody has more access to God than others. Some of us are just paying more attention.

So let’s expand our imagination and cultivate a sensitivity to the lure. Our response to the lure is the embodiment of God in the world through the holy work of liberation.

Join me on this adventure of learning to respond to the lure to a build a world that’s more free, compassionate and creative.

Why subscribe?

I’m thankful to the people who have expanded my imagination and I write so I can do the same for everyone reading this. This newsletter is like the deep conversations you have with a friend over coffee where you talk about all the radical ideas you rarely share with others. You can get this newsletter sent directly to your inbox every time I post by entering your email address below.

And If you love this newsletter, consider upgrading your subscription to financially support this project. For $5 a month (or $50 a year) you’ll get access to everything, including additional essays for paying subscribers, along with the complete archives.
